From Day 7

How to spot the fakes: honey & olive oil

  • In the US, honey mixed with a sweetener such as corn syrup can't be labelled just “honey”. Read the front and the ingredients.
  • “Raw” isn't defined in the FDA's honey labelling guidance. Read it as the seller's description rather than a tested standard.
  • Extra virgin olive oil: look for a harvest date. Colour doesn't tell you the quality.

Never give honey, including mānuka, to babies under 12 months.
